Woodside Bereavement Service

Woodside Bereavement Service logo

Woodside Bereavement Service was established to provide bereavement counselling to families living in the Croydon area experiencing severe or prolonged shock or depression arising from bereavement and loss.

Our trained Christian counsellors give support to bereaved and pre-bereaved people. We assist them through their period of mourning and encourage acceptance of loss and readjustment. The service also serves to educate and increase the awareness of the nature of grief and bereavement.

Our service is freely available to Croydon residents affected by loss, regardless of race, colour, nationality, belief, age, gender, status, sexual orientation or physical disability.

For families grieving the loss of a loved one through suicide, we accept referrals from residents outside the Croydon area.

Woodside Bereavement Service is comprised of volunteers who have trained as bereavement counsellors. They give one-to-one support on a regular basis. The volunteers come from every part of the borough and from multi-cultural backgrounds, and each has different experiences of life.
