Croydon Neighbourhood Care Association

We are an umbrella organisation for neighbourhood care across the London Borough of Croydon.

Our role is to help our members implement strategies to maximise their income, utilising their resources and assisting them in developing sustainable services around the needs of their community.

Our Aims
Our principle aim is to promote, support and develop local neighbourhood care schemes within the London Borough of Croydon for the relief of isolated and vulnerable adults, supporting our Member Groups to continue to provide preventative services to the community, through best practice, training and development.

Objectives
Our objective is to act for the relief of persons in need and for such other charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of the London Borough of Croydon as the charity shall from time to time decide and to do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of that object.

• Advertising / promotional material
• Assistance with bid writing
• Quarterly forums
• Good practice guidance
• Access to policies and procedures
• Printing and photocopying

Service Definitions

Befriending services offer supportive, reliable relationships through volunteer befrienders to people with mental health problems who would otherwise be socially isolated.
Services which protect vulnerable people, enabling them to be as independent as possible and get the most out of their lives. This could be in a temporary crisis or in a longer lasting situation. Also support services for mental health carers.
Old age consists of ages nearing the average lifespan of human beings, and thus the end of the human life cycle. Euphemisms for older people include advanced adult, elderly, and senior or senior citizen. Older people have limited regenerative abilities and are more prone to disease, syndromes, and sickness than other adults.
